1. Who We Are

Apuntika is developed and operated by an independent developer based in Spain. This app is sold globally via the Apple App Store.

2. What Information We Collect

a. User Content

All AI summarization and lesson generation happens locally on your device or via temporary, anonymized API requests to third-party AI services. No user-uploaded content (text, PDF, audio, etc.) is stored on our servers, because we don't operate any servers.

b. Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to collect anonymized usage data, such as:

• Device type and OS version
• App version
• Feature usage (e.g. which application features are used most)
• Event tracking (e.g. app installs, subscriptions)

Firebase may collect device identifiers such as advertising ID (IDFA) according to its own privacy practices. You can read more here: Firebase Privacy and Security

You can opt out of Firebase Analytics via your device's settings.

c. Apple Subscriptions

Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. We do not store or have access to your payment details or Apple ID. Apple provides anonymized subscription status (active/inactive) for billing management.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use data to:

• Improve app features and performance
• Monitor aggregated usage patterns
• Ensure subscription access is respected
• Fix bugs and crashes

We do not sell or share your personal data for marketing purposes.

4. AI Services

AI summarization and chat requests may be temporarily processed via third-party APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Google). Your content is not linked to any identifier and is not retained by Apuntika. These services follow their own security and privacy standards.

5. International Data Transfers

Firebase and AI providers may process data outside the EU. We ensure they comply with applicable data transfer regulations, including GDPR adequacy standards or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

6. Your Rights (GDPR & Global)

As an EU user (under GDPR) or an international user, you have the right to:

• Access and manage the data stored on your device
• Object to analytics tracking (which can be disabled in your device settings)
• Delete your data by uninstalling the app

Apuntika does not store personal data on external servers. All content and history remain on your device. If you wish to delete your data, please uninstall the app. For any concerns or questions, contact us at jano@jano.dev.

7. Data Retention

• User content is only stored locally on your device.
• Firebase analytics data is retained according to Google's default retention policy.
• Subscription data is retained only as provided by Apple.

8. Children's Privacy

Apuntika is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Security

We rely on Apple, Firebase, and third-party AI vendors' industry-standard encryption and security practices. No backend server is operated by Apuntika.

10. YouTube

This app embeds videos from YouTube using Google’s official player. YouTube may collect usage data, including tracking cookies, in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.

11. Changes

This policy may change as the app evolves. Major changes will be communicated via the app or App Store listing.
